CREW is the acronym we use for 'Collective RE & Worship', which is the name we have given to a collaborative group of three local Church of England schools - Rockcliffe, Blackford and Houghton. We plan special joint events, with the support of Rachel Gleave from NISCU (Northern Inter Schools Christian Union), to provide our children with opportunities to meet children from other schools and build relationships with some that may well go onto the same secondary schools.

Here are some examples of join events we have had recently:

•  A themed RE and World Views week. 

A special RE week based on chosen theme, with extra RE lessons being taught in class, Rachel from NISCU visiting all of our schools and teaching fun lessons, as well as visitors and Kieran and Andrew from St John's - all sharing their knowledge and experience based on the theme. The Year 2s and 6s from all the schools get together for a celebration service in St. John's Church, Houghton during the week. The children share what they have been learning in the week and get chance to play games and chat with the children from the other schools. 

• Joint Year 6 Easter Hunt and picnic at Houghton CE Primary School 
• Year 6 Summer Picnic at Rockcliffe CE Primary School (Transition to secondary school focus.)
