SEN

Welcome to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) part of our school website. This page will be updated regularly with information relating to special educational needs and disabilities.

At Houghton C of E School Primary School we strive to support all pupils to enable them to achieve their full potential at school. In order to do this, many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey.

Quality teaching is vital; however, for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them achieve their targets. Please try not to worry if you or your child's teacher believe that your child may have Special Educational Needs. There are lots of people in school that are able to help and we will do all we can to make sure your child receives the support and guidance that they need.

Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) is responsible for managing the SEN provision across the school.

Mrs Diane Hadley is our SENCo and she can be contacted at school on 01228 593992.

Alternatively you can send an email, for her attention, to dhadley@houghton.cumbria.sch.uk

Our SEND Governor is Mrs Gabby Stephenson-Bell, she meets regularly with Mrs Diane Hadley to plan and review SEND provision across the school.

If you wish to speak to Mrs Gabby-Stephenson-Bell please email the school office on admin@houghton@cumbria.sch.uk
