Learning together in a caring Christian community

Pots, chocs and lots of joy!

Pots of Joy (and chocolate of joy) were gratefully received by some of our well-deserving Houghton villagers. Thanks goes to the parents for nominating people who have gone above and beyond for our village community during Lockdown.

Here's who we said thank you on behalf of everyone at school and in the village:

Christine from the Nursery for her remarkable dedication to the children, their families and also the staff.

Vikki, Craig and Harri from the village shop for keeping everyone stocked up on snacks, for deliveries, for keeping everyone safe in the shop and for the extra special gift that you sent up to the hospital for staff to share with a patient.

Foxtrot Sue for writing letters to the Rainbows. These were well received!

David (or his wife says we can call him Mr. Womble) for continually and selflessly picking up litter in the village.

Mrs Stewart for keeping everyone entertained by organising the book box, putting it out every day and raising money for Colonel Tom. One child said it helped keep them off screens!

Mr and Mrs Ellmore for all your hard work lambing, delivering food and everything you do for the school.

Mrs Murgatroyd for documenting so beautifully Houghton Village during Lockdown.

Farmer Susan for all of your hard work for Houghton, the farm and for our school.

Mrs Forster for organising the Father's Day gift stall and other PTA events.

Mrs Hewitt for everything she does for the school as part of the PTA and for organising the year 2 mums!

Mrs Ballantyne for working on the front-line during the pandemic.

Sheila Don for virtually cycling to Rome to raise money for the NHS and Marriage Care and providing virtual picture postcards, maps and diary entry along the way.

Imogen for shopping for neighbours and other residents who have struggled to source essential items.

Miss Mawson and Mr J for working tirelessly for our school, keeping parents informed about everything and for great support for families.
