Harvest Experience at Lanercost Priory
Birch Class and the Key Stage 2 Worship Leaders had the privilege of visiting Lanercost Priory to take part in 'Experience Harvest' which was set up in collaboration with 5 other schools. Exploring the first 5 stations, the children learned about different types of harvest and growth and also reflected on how the spirit of God produces growth in character, revealed in what the Bible calls the 'Fruit of the Spirit' (Found in Galations 5 in the Bible).
The children explored the harvest of the garden and patience, the harvest of the ocean and peace, the harvest of the flock and humility, the harvest of the grain and generosity and the harvest of the earth and joy. They all came together for the 6th and final station which was a Jewish Sukkah and celebrated the harvest of thanksgiving and faithfulness.
Many children commented on how much they had enjoyed the experience and it was a delight for staff to witness the awe, wonder and stillness of the children as they soaked in the atmosphere of the Priory.
