“If we had £1000” – School Council

March 4, 2016

On the 1st March we went to the Civic Centre. We were given a project that if we had £1000 for a one off project in our local community what would we spend it on. We came up with adding some more bins to make the local park and other areas cleaner and less polluted, and to keep it from harming the environment and the animals. Also we thought we could place picnic benches, paint the equipment, change the flooring under the swings etc to keep it bright and clean. Also to make it somewhere nice for all age groups and elderly can come and sit on the benches in the summer and eat their picnic. We thought that if we had the equipment upgraded it would make it more open and bright for everyone to enjoy! There were lots of schools and lots of good ideas, these are the schools that attended: St Bedes , Belle Vue, Robert Ferguson, Brampton, Stanwix, Longtown, Newlaithes Junior and Houghton! Even the Mayor was there! We all had a brilliant time and got biscuits and juice at the end! ( The best part )
