Last term,for PE,Rowan class took part in the My-Way Code. It is for our mental and physical well-being and a way of helping our bodies and minds emotionally. It helps us to concentrate.The sessions lasted for one hour and were led by Gillene and Sonny. Sonny is the creator of the My-Way Code.They both work for the World Health Initiative.

At the start of every lesson,we had to find a space in the hall quietly and lie down on our backs with our eyes closed. This helped us to concentrate on our breathing exercises. The sessions always involved a warm-up, relaxation exercises, yoga and team building games. We also had to think about our emotions, what causes different emotions, how they can effect us and how to control them.

Gillene will be returning in Summer Term 2018 to work with our Year 6 children on their transition to secondary.
