The Worship Crew

IMAG0585The Collective Worship Crew consists of a group of children from years 4,5 and 6. They began meeting together regularly early in 2013 on Friday lunchtimes. The purpose of the group is to ensure that all children in school engage fully in the spiritual ethos of the school, understanding that values taught in Worship can be spread throughout the whole school curriculum and into their relationships with one another.

Meet our Worship Crew

To help to achieve this purpose  they have been involved in the following:

1. They have planned and implemented their own Worship for the whole school;
2. They have supported younger pupils to take part in Worship;
3. They have made an Easter Garden for the reflection area in the entrance hall;
4. They have written a letter of thanks for a cross made by a member of Mrs Smithson’s church and also given an invitation for this person to come to worship;
5. They began working on a logo;
6. They made crosses for sale at churches to raise money for Cash For Kids.

From September the  Collective Worship will meet Monday lunchtimes and have the following goals for the next academic year

1. To evaluate Collective Worship and be actively involved in further development and improvement;
2. To be actively involved in ideas for constructing an outdoor reflection area;
3. To continue to take an active interest in the reflection area and also class worship tables, ensuring these remain fresh and updated;
4. To be involved in the Collective Worship/Ethos day planned in October.

Joseph and his wonderful coat

We are in Collective Worship Crew and we decided to do a play about Joseph’s colourful robe (Olivia, Amy,Franciska,Ella,Ella and Amy) First we got together and created the play! We did it on Thursday 13th Feb and it went really well. We even had a colourful robe made by Mrs Smithson (a teacher that leads Collective Worship Crew).
