iPads and Apple TVs have arrived!

December 11, 2013

AppleDuring last week the school took delivery of 10 Apple iPad Minis, 5 Apple TVs and a Mini Mac.  The children were very excited when several large boxes arrived in school, knowing that inside were items which they knew would elevate ICT in school to the next level! The children have access to 10 iPad Minis throughout the school day,  which they will use in and out of class to support and extend learning across the curriculum.  This has been made possible by making the whole school WiFi enabled, allowing children’s learning to be mobile and intuitive.  Publishing and sharing their learning has also been made possible by the installation of Apple TVs in all classrooms, this allows for children to share their iPad learning to the class through the use of a projector and Smart board.  This product works by the children mirroring their iPad via WiFi to the projector, the whole class can see exactly what is shown on the iPad on the large interactive screen.  Not only are the children mirroring their work, but all teachers in school have a teacher iPad which they are using to model, display, share and access a variety of educational and inspiring resources and ‘Apps’.  The whole school community are excited about these new resources and we know they will enhance and underpin the introduction of the new ‘Computing’ curriculum which will come into effect in September 2014.
