Year One and Year Two children have been having lots of fun in Science Club.

We investigated what happened to an egg in water and what happened to an egg in a solution of salt and water. The egg in the water sank because the egg was denser (heavier) than the water but in the solution of salt and water the egg floated because the salt made the water denser.

We explored what happens when food colouring and washing-up liquid is added to milk.

We placed a liquid (sugar dissolved in warm water) on to plates and left it for a few days. After a few days sugar crystals were left. This was due to evaporation of the water.

Take a look at our photographs.
