This Wednesday (21st October), the children continued their Design and Technology Healthy Cooking topic by making a basic Bolognese sauce. The children discussed and sorted the ingredients, thinking about protein, carbohydrates, fats and sugars. To make their recipe even healthier, each group added at least two extra vegetables to their sauce (choosing from: mushrooms, carrots, celery, courgette and peppers). This week, the children were in charge of following the recipe, preparing the ingredients and all of the cooking, with Mrs Murdoch and Mr Johnston acting as helpers and guides. The children created some delicious food which they got to take home (and we hope you got to try some!). We have one more week of our D & T healthy cooking topic after half-term.
