This year, Rowan Class will be visiting Croft Farm this year to learn different life skills. On their first visit they learnt about budgeting when they made Hedgerow Jelly. The children had to calculate the cost of the different ingredients and resources needed to produce the jam and then how much they would need to sell each jar for if they were to cover their costs and make a profit.

The second visit was very successful. The focus was on navigation, communication and first aid. The children used maps and grid references to navigate the farm and had to use mobile phones to report an accident, take details and deliver first aid. The children were fantastic and said they found it really useful and informative! A big thank you to Ruth and Mrs Aglionby for a great morning.

The next visit will be in the spring term.
