We visited Croft Farm to further our learning about nutrition.

During the visit we learnt the importance of eating home made meals and not too much processed foods, which are high in sugar and salt. We made a beef casserole by scrubbing and chopping carrots, potatoes, onions, turnip and butternut squash. These were added to the beef and placed in the oven for 2 hours. We learnt what ‘organic’ means and how keeping the skin on vegetables provides us with more vitamins and minerals.

We visited the vegetable garden and learnt how nearly all of our food comes from soil. We helped Lottie prepare the compost for sowing new seeds.

Take a look at our photographs to see more of our visit.
