Beech Class visited Croft Farm to learn about pollination. Ruth showed us how to dissect flowers, we peeled off petals and carefully found the pollen, male and female parts of flowers.

Following on from this, we visited the orchard, counted how many bees visited a tree in one minute (there were lots!). We discussed why bees are so important and how they are attracted to flowers.

We learnt that bats, birds, butterflies, the wind and many other insects are pollinators.

Take a look at our photos.
